It’s all about how to go about learning – any type of learning – by anyone – from anywhere. Even if you do not know where to begin, even if you think you are too old to learn, even if you think you have completed the learning – re-think – to embrace COL.
I spent full four months just to provide enough meat around the theory of COL – a fundamental theory to tackle any type of learning, by anyone and from anywhere. I targeted this to take on the 21st century learning without flinching a single muscle in doing so.
Each and every time I attended the webinars, seminars, conferences and other educational events, I discovered this fundamental approach to learning helping me to complete the learning process. I can give you thousands of examples from my experience of this world. It is better to discover the experiences of your own to discover the truth about this theory of COL to understand that learning never ends.
Srinivas Ramanujan, one of the 30 all time greatest mathematicians of the world was only 33 years old when he died. When Hardy visited him at the hospital, Ramanujan pointed out to the license plate number on a car in the parking lot and asked Hardy what is so unique about that number. When Hardy could not think of any, Ramanujan wrote on a sheet of paper showing how that number is part of an infinite series that he had discovered earlier. A few hours later he passed away.
I narrated this story just to point out that learning need not stop even if you think you have no more to learn or no more time left to learn. If you pause your existence for a moment and think about the world around you, you have been learning about this world you are living in, in one way or the other, through someone or self and probably every time you feel it, see it, hear it, smell it and you taste it. If you can pause for a moment and put these experiences of your world together in a meaningful fashion, your learning will become your greatest asset to thrill you in a way that you have never imagined before.
The theory of COL is just about that. It is giving you that thrill of knowing the how’s for what’s from your unique perspective. The how’s for any type of learning, by anyone, from anywhere is all about visiting all FOUR quadrants of the COL to complete the learning process.
With that statement, I feel I have finally arrived here. Finally, at a point in my learning process where I can become comfortably numb that I am able to complete the journey around the circle – once. I would like to pause and would like to hear from anyone out there with any type of learning issues to see whether I can help through this simple theory of COL.
I believe that I should not get any such requests, if I have succeeded in driving home this fundamental aspect of learning in a convincing manner. If not, I know I have more work to do.
However, this feeling that I have does not mean I have stopped blogging on COL. As I said before, the learning never ends, thinking never ends and hence, sharing what I have learnt never ends till such time my physical body that is housing these thoughts give up on me.
Of course, there are things that I would like to do before that happens. One of those things would definitely be able to connect with great souls like Oprah. She is a great teacher in many aspects, she is a great connector to the world like no other, and, she has set very high standards on how she would communicate the same to the world. I must say that my learning of her would be complete only when I complete my discovery of her works.
The other thing would be to attract enough interest in what I am doing to get either some organization or some investor interested to promote the theory of COL in some other way other than the way I have done through this blog. I will continue to blog till something like that happens. After that, I am hoping that many other avenues will open up to share my new learnings.
When Theory of Constraints came around like the ones before that – TQM, JIT just to name a few, it took a little time to take off and be accepted or embraced by businesses. I think the same would happen here to accept the Theory of COL for learning processes. However, my effort here is make the learning processes to become lean and mean and continuously evolve in accordance with the changing times and environment through the theory of COL.
